The RealResult service is designed to allow Gaming Operators to maximise their card processing capabilities by providing data that allows the merchant to create a dynamic authorisation service. While standard PSP/Acquirer solutions return only a generic failed or successful response for online transactions, RealResult provides the actual result code as communicated by the bank in real time. This allows the merchant to build logic into their payment system to drastically improve authorisation rates. For any merchant looking to handle card transactions declines are a constant problem. For 7995 gaming merchants however declines are even more problematic for several reasons:
The cost of player acquisition typically ranges from about €150 to €300 per player. A first time player who wants to deposit funds receiving a decline is a significant loss of revenue to an Operator. A generic decline does not offer the merchant enough information to subsequently get an authorisation.
When a player does not get an authorisation on one gaming site when they think that they should they will often move to a competitor. This can be particularly the case for first time players.
It is widely known that particular issuers decline a transaction that is flagged with a MCC of 7995. This leads to many operators retrying transactions using different PSP’s/Acquirers combinations in the hope of obtaining an authorisation. This process is both costly (additional transaction fees) and user-unfriendly due to additional waiting times.
Often when a player gets a decline they call up with queries asking why their payment was not accepted. The standard practice is to refer the player to their issuing bank for more information. Player frustration at the lack of help and information available can also lead to loss of players. Reports can be accessed and downloaded via our online transaction management tool – RealControl. Realex Reports can be downloaded by date, sub account, batch id or by the data in the additional fields for example by the player number. Each report will contain a status column that will show whether the transaction was authorised or declined. |
